MTV Movie Awards: Big Dick Richie returns?

The nominations for the MTV Movie Awards, announced last night, are decided by executives and producers at MTV. Ostensibly, the choices are designed for maximum appeal to the channel's viewers. This year, two movies are tied for the most nominations: Django Unchained and Ted.

That makes one of MTV's most celebrated films an Oscar-winning reclamation of the racist Westerns of the '50s and '60s -- and the other a shlocky, profane brain fart from the Boston white trash that wicked ruined this year's Oscars in the first place.

Congrats, MTV fans. You are truly of the Renaissance.

None of this means that the actual MTV Movie Awards will be any less fun to watch, of course. The dryly delightful Rebel Wilson is hosting, and she's also up for Best Female Performance and Best Breakthrough Performance for her role in Pitch Perfect. We hope she wins both, because there's no such thing as too much Rebel Wilson.

In other news, Magic Mike is up for awards, so, y'know, beefcakes.
