There's a Hulk Hogan Biopic in the Works, Says Hulk Hogan

Hulk Hogan told TMZ earlier this month that he's developing a movie about his life. But it's the ever-flaky Hulk Hogan, and it's TMZ, so we didn't think much of it other than please let it be so.

Turns out, The Hulk is sticking to his story. In an interview with Toronto's Cape Breton Post, Hogan elaborated on the details of the film in the works. And it is apparently a real film, which is actually in the works.

Please, please, let it be so.

The former pro wrestler, who filmed four seasons of Hogan Knows Best in Miami before moving to his current home in Clearwater Beach, Florida, downplayed the film to the Post, because as movies go, this one's still in the embryo stage:

It's not really true. It's a TMZ headline.... What happened was, I was going through LaGuardia Airport ... this guy asked me a bunch of dumb questions for TMZ and he goes, 'Eh, when are they going to do a bio about your life?' And I said, 'It's already in development.' So now everybody's rambling like it's a feature film already.

But that doesn't mean there's no activity on the memorializing-an-'80s-wrestling-legend-in-cheesy-cinematic-detail front:

But the truth is ... two kids that are writers in L.A., hot young writers, they did a four-page treatment and I'm telling you they nailed it -- they nailed it like they were living in my shoes -- and I gave them the green light to go ahead and write the first pass.

So the thing's not written yet -- but it is, in fact, being written. Best case scenario: It's not a feature film at all. It's a TV movie. This could be the best thing to happen to Lifetime since Anna Nicole.

Hogan went on to describe the merits of these "hot young writers," saying, "they've got wrestling in their blood, they were huge Hulk Hogan fans, so they followed not only the smoke and mirrors that you see on TV, but they followed personally what I was going through: the divorce, the car accident, all the drama, the eight back surgeries, the hip replacements, the knee replacements."

He doesn't mention the sex tape scandal, which is probably a blessing. But the real gift of this interview is this: Hogan wants to cast Chris Hemsworth, aka Thor, in the lead role.

Somebody start a Kickstarter. I'm giving all my income to Hulkamania: It's The Terry Bollea Story, Brother at the first available opportunity. Please, please, pretty please let it be so.
