The Ten Best Things to Do in Miami This Weekend
Are you sick of hearing about Justin Bieber yet? Unless you're a heartbroken fan or really into schadenfreude, your answer's probably yes. Dude's arrest in Miami has taken over the news cycle of the last day or so.
It didn't have to be this way. Riptide has already explained all the ways Bieber could've avoided getting hauled off to jail. And that's just the beginning. I mean, drag racing? Lame South Beach clubs? Dropping $75k at a strip club? These are hardly the best things to do in Miami.
The following ten things, on the other hand? They're New Times-approved ways to get down this weekend, and they won't land you in a cell next to a Canadian pop star. You can even attend them in a rented Lambo, with a model on your arm, if you have the resources. (But, I mean, don't. It's been done.)
ScreenDance: Thoughtful combinations of choreography and film presented all weekend long. Bonus points if you show up in a unitard.
Talib Kweli: The rapper brings his Gravitas to The Stage.
International Chocolate Festival: Because your New Year's diet is, like, SO three weeks ago.
Miriam: Nora Chipaumire dances in the dark. Springsteen's not involved.
ANR & Jacuzzi Boys: Two of South Florida's biggest local bands co-headline at MOCA.
