Can You Survive The Purge? Haunted House Based on the Film Comes to Wynwood
Do you ever feel as if this silly thing called the "legal system" is getting you down and holding you back? You totally understand why some laws exist, but sometimes you just need to blow off some steam without fear of heavy repercussions.

Too bad things like that only happen in the movies - specifically, in last year's horror film The Purge. Or do they?
For those adrenaline junkies out there, Universal Pictures has put together a hell of an interactive fan experience leading up to the release of its latest horror flick: The Purge: Anarchy. Following the premise of the film - where the legal system takes a 12-hour break - guests will be immersed in a situation where anything goes.
The Purge: Breakout is traveling across the United States, stopping first in Atlanta this weekend before it heads to Miami next week, and ending in Los Angeles just in time for the film's premiere.
A sequel to the 2013 film, The Purge: Anarchy follows a new set of characters as they have to fight to survive the annual night of purge. In Breakout, fans are being given the chance to feel similar anxiety.
Done in 30-minute tours, the mobile attraction contained within four semi-trucks will put participants in a situation where they need to work together with five other strangers to try and survive their mini-night of purging. According to the event description, "Your group is being held captive by a demented psychopath... Trapped in his house, groups must work together solving a series of increasingly complicated, mind-bending puzzles and clues in order to breakout from captivity and survive the most terrifying 12 hours of the year."
Basically, it's a mobile version of a haunted house where you're trapped. People will likely be coming at you with plastic weapons, and your sweat glands will be working overtime as you hyperventilate trying to escape.
Though, like the website explains, "Unlike a traditional haunted house experience, you're not just a passive viewer moving through a show." Instead you will be a part of the show undergoing both mental and physical challenges.
The length of the experience depends on your group. If you are resourceful, you can likely be done quickly, but the maximum amount of time you have before you are "purged" is 30 minutes.
The Purge: Breakout will be set up at the Mana Wynwood parking lot (NW Second Ave. and NW 22nd Lane) starting Thursday, June 5, until Sunday, June 8. Thursday, scheduled experiences begin at 6:30 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 5 p.m., and Sunday starting at 12 p.m. Tickets cost $20. Visit thepurgebreakout.com.
