Miami Makes Money's Top Foreclosures List

Money Magazine has released its list of the top 500 foreclosure zip codes in the country. Florida registers a whopping 72 zip codes on the list, more than any state except California. The hardest hit zip in the state? 33160 in North Miami Beach, which made the top 20 with 480 foreclosures filed this year. Others on the top 200 include 33120 in Hollywood, and 33033 in Homestead.

The top City of Miami zip might be surprising: 33131, a.k.a. Brickell, with 282 foreclosures. It’s followed by a small patch of the city directly south of Metro Zoo, 33177, which had 269. South Beach, 33139, was just behind that, with 264.

The moral? That very fancy condo might be a disguise for a very shoddy financial situation.
