Featured prominently in the news of the capture of an alleged serial rapist 19-year-old named Wayne A. Proctor was the below suspect sketch, by Miami-Dade forensic artist Jorge Molina, which was instrumental in breaking the case. The resemblance clearly is uncanny, and reminded us of "Killer Creativity." The 2006 story, by New Times art writer Carlos Suarez de Jesus, chronicled the work of the Forensic Art Unit of the Miami-Dade Police Department's Crime Scene Investigations Bureau.

One of the few full-time squads of its kind in the nation, the two-member unit helps solve crimes by creating facial reconstructions of murder victims from skeletal remains or postmortem photographs. By recomposing the decomposed in their drawings, these artists virtually bring the dead back to life, making them easier to identify. --Frank Houston
