Channing Crowder, Michael Irvin, Dontrelle Willis, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino CEO Jim Allen and Howard Schnellenberger greet fans at the grand opening of The Park Sports Club on Monday, November 5.

Monday night, sports enthusiasts crowded The Park Sports Club at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for a grand opening reception filled with complimentary jalapeño poppers and an open bar to highlight the new hearty sports menu and multiple sky high screens, perfect for game days. Football Hall of Famer Michael Irvin emceed the event throwing some coded jibber jabber out about every other sentence – even with a cheat sheet in hand. Irvin was joined by sports celebs including Marlins once-star pitcher Dontrelle Willis (who was all smiles considering the rough season), Miami HEAT guard Ricky Davis, FAU head coach and Hall of Famer Howard Schnellenberger, Miami Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder, former NFL star J.J. Stokes and the Florida Panthers Ice Dancers, who were scantily clad, as expected. Actor Stephen Baldwin also made an appearance at the event taking advantage of the open bar with a good view of the dancers. The mixer expected appearances by Udonis Haslem and Dennis Rodman, who didn’t make it out. Haslem obviously has the justification to concentrate on his game, but Rodman had no excuse. Perhaps the screwball missed the party because he couldn’t decide whether to show as a fella or female and hopped the train back to Crazyville instead. -- Tracy Block
