Fed Supports Economic Stimulus – Ben S. Bernanke said that he supports actions by the government that will prevent the economy from heading into a recession. Bernanke, who has usually not endorsed any political side, said that he is willing to back this plan even if it leads to a larger budget deficit.


New All State Policies Banned in Florida
– The state legislature banned All State from issuing new policies in the state of Florida until it can explain why home owner’s insurance rates have not gone down. The company has refused to turn in the information that the state government is requesting.

Vitorin Doesn’t Reduce Cholesterol – The drug is said to accelerate the production of fatty plaques in the heart’s blood vessels rather than slow it. The report by the companies that produce the drugs, Merck and Schering-Plough, states that the drug doesn’t reduce the cholesterol in patients.

YouTube Gangster Arrested – Rudy Villanueva, gang leader of the Bird Road Boys, posted a video on YouTube threatening police to come and get him. The police did.

Lauderhill Toddler Mourned
– Family members mourned at Shaloh Joseph’s wake. Joseph was beaten to death by her second cousin, who claims that he attacked the toddler because she was crying while he watched cartoons. The family members are pleading that he should be tried a s a juvenile.


Virus Infection Spreads at Hotel
– Several patrons of the Hilton Singer Island Resort were infected by the norovirus, which causes flu-like symptoms. 3 people have been hospitalized. Officials believe that the source was contaminated food.


Bay of Pigs Vets Fight for Home
– The men who fought in the Bay of Pigs are fighting to gain some respect and to be remembered as much more than a failed mission. The city commission has granted the vets some prime real estate near the American Airlines Arena. Now they must raise $65 million to build the museum.

Burglar Finds Corpse, Calls Police – A burglar in Berlin broke in to an apartment only to find the resident was dead. He called the police and fled the scene after giving them the address. The Police found the 64 year-old resident had died two weeks before.
