Breaking news from the Herald: Sex offenders are living under the Julia Tuttle Causeway! Okay, so it's not breaking. . . and maybe it isn't "news," technically, but, well, it's on the front page -- that ought to count for something, right?

In a conversation over the phone last night, managing news editor Dave Wilson generously supplied that he had no idea that New Times had published over four thousand words on the subject already (work which recently won the Investigative Reporters and Editors award for investigative journalism).

"I didn't read your story six months ago," Wilson said. "Frankly, I was not aware of it."

Now that's a news man.
