On The List - Love Hate, Mark Knight and Studio A
Is it just me or does it seem like this week feels like its never going to end? The hours seem to going by painfully slow. Well the weekend is only a day away, but starting tonight there is already plenty to do.
If you haven’t been, you must check out Love Hate Lounge (432 Washington Ave., Miami Beach) during their newest Thursday night party Apt. 423. The name probably seems familiar because it’s the same Apt. 407 party formerly at Abraxas Lounge (407 Meridian Ave., Miami Beach). The party attracts a cool mix of South Beach locals, mainland crawlers, tourists and hipsters; an odd combination to say the least. Tonight features a guest spot by Sweat Records owner Lolo, along with Ray Milian and friends.
In the mood for live music on Saturday? Stop by the Poplife party at White Room (1306 N. Miami Ave., Miami) where Airship Rocket and Kingsley will be performing live. As usual, resident DJs Induce, Matt Cash and Aramis will be there to provide the indie staples.
Sundance at Set on Sunday nights is arguably one of the hottest parties right now. And how could it not be? Gorgeous ladies, beautiful surroundings and top-notch house music is a winning combination. This week Mark Knight stops by to get the beautiful people moving during a special four-hour set and to promote his newest release Toolroom Knights. Stop by – if you can get through the velvet ropes.
Monday is Cinco de Mayo, America’s excuse to get drunk on yet another ethnic holiday. Well if you are thinking of going out and lack Radiohead tickets, stop by Pawn Shop Lounge’s Slutty Cinco de Mayo party where there is promise of $5 tequila shots, $5 beers and $75 bottles. As if that wasn’t good enough, there is no cover to boot. DJs Obi T. and Mike Deuce will helm the decks.
And finally, it seems like the post-Conference recession already claimed its first victim: Studio A, you were the rock club we hardly knew, and you’ll be sorely missed.
