Miami-Based Psystar Will Get Around To Apple's Law Suit When It Feels Like It

Miami based Psystar makes cheap computers that run Apple's elegant Mac OS X operating system. Such a brilliant idea. Why hasn't anyone else thought of it before?

Because Steve Jobs and Co. have let it be known that they'll sue anyone who tries into submission. But Psystar has decided to fight, and lawyered up with a high profile firm that has taken on the tech giant before, and won. They haven't gotten around to filing their official response yet, and Information Week is reporting they've already missed two deadlines to do so. The next deadline is August 28. Information Week theorizes the case could be much more complicated than Psystar and its lawyers first anticipated.

A Psystar victory could be huge. Other manufacturers like Dell might begin selling units that run OS X.

Psystar's offerings aren't as chic as Apple's ivory and titanium line up, but they are a lot cheaper.
