John McCain In The Case Of The BlackBerry Boner

John McCain's stop in Miami today will be known forever as the day the world learned not only that the candidate knows what a BlackBerry is, but that he invented it. And then that he did no such thing. And then that his campaign aids are all bunch of idiots (ok, maybe everyone knew that before).

Douglas Holtz-Eakin, a top McCain policy adviser, waved his smart phone in front of reporters and said, "You're looking at the miracle that John McCain helped create."

Then Matt McDonald, another top McCain aid, claimed that Holtz-Eakin's remarks were boneheaded.

"He would not claim to be the inventor of anything, much less the BlackBerry. This was obviously a boneheaded joke by a staffer."

America, do you really want a President who hires boneheads?

Maybe this is all a misunderstanding. Perhaps Holtz-Eakin's BlackBerry had a picture of the Iraq War on its screen. A "miracle" John McCain really did help to create.
