Florida Doctors Scared of Palin, Ask For McCain's Medical Records

Certain Florida Doctors' assessment of McCain.

About 90 Florida doctors have signed a petition asking for John McCain to release his full medical records. No, no, no, it's not a political move they say, they just want a little more info about McCain's fight with skin cancer. Oh, and they're also deathly afraid that if McCain were to kick the bucket then Sarah Palin would become Moose Empress of America, according to The St. Pete Times:

The Florida doctors — many who acknowledge they favor Democrat Barack Obama — say they are raising concerns because if something were to happen to McCain, Sarah Palin would take over.
"It's frightening to me to think she could be commander in chief," said Kathryn Price, a family doctor in Sarasota.

At 72, McCain would be the oldest President ever to enter office. However, he has already released 1,173 pages of medical records this cycle, and in 1999 released what the NY Times called "an unusually large amount of such material for a candidate for high office." Though, his latest bought with skin cancer came in 2000. In contrast, Obama has only released a one page summary of his medical records stating that he is in perfect health.

Aside from a horrific economy that has now impacted nearly everyone...the next most important issue pertaining to the election --one week away -- is about Sen. McCain's health, isn't it? At age 72, having been a POW for 5.5 yrs. and with four bouts of malignant melanoma..the chances of his maintaining "good health" during the first term of the presidency is really something for all voting Americans to be concerned about. Irrespective of Sen. McCain boasting of having more experience and the right qualifications...the issue of his 'good health' has to be a deciding factor for this voter -- also a senior citizen and a Viet Nam-era veteran. To make a long story short -- I decided this past Sunday when I and 10,000 of others cast an early vote in S. Florida -- for Barack Obama! Voting is a distinct privilege...So Vote early..and Vote Healthy! G-d Bless America
John McCain has reoccurring 'Cancer', notice the pancake cover-up on his left cheek. And numerous other aliments associated with elderly people - he's 72, and he's running for a position that will last 8 years - until he's 80+; so expect serious health issues. More disturbing, if that's possible; is that Gov. Palin refuses to release her own medical records - there were complications with her recent birth. We have a right to know about Palin's medical problems! And the real extent of McCain's Cancer! Yes? How does one insist on this information?
Thanks for setting things straight, Ms. Baker. I certainly cannot imagine McCain making it to the end of a second term, at least. And certainly, there is no way that Palin is qualified to lead this country.

The "Florida Doctors" article states that Sen. McCain has 'released' 1,173 pages of medical records. He did no such thing. He invited a limited number of newspaper reporters (selected reporters at that) of which exactly one, so far as we have been told (Dr. Gupta of CNN) happened to also be a doctor. No photographs or copies of the records were allowed. These people, with the exception of Dr, Gupta, were not medical specialists or doctors. They had a few hours to look at the pages. There was no doctor present to explain what the records meant. Dr. Gupta noted that the pages did not include mental health records. As a former cancer researcher myself, I am deeply concerned about the fact that Sen. McCain has had RECURRING malignant melanoma, deeply embedded. Such melanoma can strike a fourth time, and grow at an alarming rate: death can occur relatively rapidly, and does so in far too many cases. Sen. McCain's melanoma is recent. Not good. I'm a former Republican and former Florida resident, and was a teacher for a long time. I'll try now to teach you something about melanoma: it's dangerous, and DOCTORS, not reporters, need to see the records, not simply read what reporters thought of them. I repeat: those records were NOT released. Let's keep the facts straight. Thank you.
