Miami Beach Resident Battled a UFO

Milton Torres, a 77-year-old retired American jet fighter pilot now living on Miami Beach, was given orders by Britain's Royal Air Force to shoot down a UFO back in 1957, and he believes the craft was manned by Space Aliens.

Torres was told to keep quiet about the order or he would never fly again. Though Torres did speak to the British press 17 years ago, the details of the order were declassified this week by Britian's Ministry of Defense, sparking renewed interest.

"I'll say what I believe — space aliens... I don't believe it was of this Earth," Torres told The Sun.

Torres never saw the U.F.O. directly, but watched it briefly dash across his radar before disappearing. The admission is the only known instance of a jet fighter pilot being ordered to shoot down a U.F.O. But none of the official documents released confirm Torres' suspicion that it was indeed an alien spaceship.

17 years ago he may have spoke about the incident but just two months ago a 7,013 word article was presented to the UFO Community on the subject.

For us, this now very old news. It's too bad that the MoD didn't see fit to tell the public that this particular incident was already on the Internet because I've received probably 300 Google Alerts for the same subject simply because mainstream media isn't privy to anything UFO oriented. It gave the UFO community a good chuckle though to see everyone and his dog reporting on an old story with a sound as if it just happened yesterday.

And to think that both Reuters and the Associated Press did the same without checking the Internet first. Shame for shame. Hence, media sensationalism at it's finest.

I'm glad that he is still living and able to tell his story. I believe that we aren't alone in this universe and why is this people in power telling everyone that sees one needs to be quiet ? I believe we should know that if there is things flying around and some people get to experience those sights need to inform the nation and be honest and truthful about something once in there lives and they are suppost to be our leaders !!

The fact that Torres was ordered –before he even took off– to fire a barrage of rockets at this object kind of puts to the lie the whole Air Force attitude (both USAF and RAF) that UFO's "are not a threat to public safety."

If they had managed to shoot the damn think down and it crashed on somebody's house, THAT ALONE would constitute a threat to the public safety!

It's time we got some politicians in office with the intestinal fortitude (I'm trying not to be sexist here) to grab some of these Air Force generals by the throat and not let go until they cough up whatever they know, or at least admit what they don't know!
