Miami Obama Rally Still On, Despite Grandmother's Illness

Obama announced last night that he's suspending his campaign for a few days.

Unlike some other candidates for the president of the United States of America, this isn't a case of suspended campaign as ridiculous political stunt.

Obama's grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, 85, is reportedly gravely ill at her home in Hawaii. According to the New York Times, Dunham "all but raised (Obama) from age 10 until he left for college."

Obama, apparently, will not leave for Hawaii until later this week -- which means that today's rally with Barack and Michelle Obama at 3:45 pm in Bicentennial Park, is still a go.

A representative at Obama's Campaign for Change office in Miami said this morning that, as far as he knew, the event was still happening. And the Times story mentions canceled events only in Iowa and Wisconsin.

So if you're planning on going, get there freaking early (like now, as you're reading this). And if you can't go, don't touch that dial -- we've got your live blogging right here.
