The Link: It's Like The Visitor's Channel But With a Macbook

The Miami Herald revealed it's new web video series The Link, today. It's a reboot of What the Five!, which was sort of like our calendar section or any local blog that tells you what's going on, except you had to look at two 20 somethings making awkward scripted banter. "The Link" has those same 20 somethings, but this time they're sitting behind a MacBook pro for no apparent reason, and aim to help you "discover the real Miami."

What, a video series with hard hitting investigations into the corruption and sleaze hidden behind that friendly layer of pastel paint? No, if the first episode is any indication by real Miami they mean things tourists might want to see that aren't obvious destinations. You know, those hidden gems.

Not that their first destination is that hidden, even to local online video series. They visit C. Madeline vintage store, which Plum TV's DayBreak featured 8 months ago.

The series isn't bad, but it's not good. Basically, we have no idea why anyone local would spend their time watching web video like this. If you're the kind of person who likes watching the visitor channel at a resort, but wish sometimes it was a bit more edgy, then maybe this is for you.
