Michael Crichton, Writer of Sex Through A Window, Dies

Veritable Renaissance man Michael Crichton passed away yesterday at 66, after a battle with cancer. The world may remember him best as the author of Jurassic Park and the Creator of ER, but students of the University of Miami's film program will always remember him as the writer/director of the sci-fi cowboy epic Westworld and writer of the voyeurism themed Extreme Close-Up (aka Sex Through A Window).

Both were produced by Paul N. Lazarus III, now director of the Motion Pictures program, and they formed a good part of the curriculum in many of his classes on production.

Extreme Close-Up, but any measure was a bit of a misstep, but Westworld is something of a cult classic, so much so that a remake is currently in pre-production. Clip above. R.I.P.
