Iggy Pop: "Miami's a hell of a good town to eat a banana!"

Sorry Rosie, Diddy, and Gloria, but Iggy Pop may just be our favorite celebrity resident of the Magic City. CNN Travel caught up with Mr. Pop to talk about why he moved to the city. Apparently he was looking for a place that was like an "elegant coma."

CNN: Is Miami similar to you as a person?

IP: Miami is nothing like me and that's why I need to be here -- it's the opposite. I'm practical, where this place is moody, I'm stolid in my interior where this place has a certain flair and I'm materialistic in a sense that this place is fundamentally spiritual -- there's a quicksilver quality about this place.

CNN: How would you describe Miami's personality?

IP: Miami's a hell of a good town to eat a banana!

CNN asks a lot of dumb questions like "If Miami was a person, who would it be?" and "If you were a real estate agent, how would you sell Miami?" If you were a tree, CNN, what kind of tree would you be? But Iggy gives a lot of really good answers, and unlike other notable notables doesn't spend 99% of his time on Star Island.
