The White House Does Not Care About The Herald's Problems

The current staff of 1600 Pennsylvania Ave is still pretending like they're running the country and doing little pretend press briefings, even though the press could give a shit about them now. So the White House is all like, "hey, right back at you, press."

Today, a reporter asked Press Secretary Dana Perino about the impending newspaper Apocalypse.

Q: Thank you, Dana. Two questions. The Wall Street Journal reports that the Chicago Tribune Company, which owns the Los Angeles Times and the Baltimore Sun, among others, is filing for bankruptcy, while the Rocky Mountain News and the Miami Herald are now up for sale. What's the White House reaction?

 MS. PERINO: I think I'll decline to comment on companies' decisions.

Not even a shallow "Well, we obviously think the press is a very important institution, and, uh, best of luck to 'em" hmm? Which would be a lie anyway, coming from this White House. Don't they care that if The Miami Herald tanks there will be no one to write about a fake Santa who gets peed on by dogs?
