During the last part of 2008, it seemed like Jeb Bush had already won the 2010 Senate race, but this afternoon he announced he won't be running.
"While the opportunity to serve my state and country during these turbulent and dynamic times is compelling, now is not the right time to return to elected office," Bush said in an official statement
. But he hopes to play a role in rebuilding his party, and education reform.
Meanwhile, Politico reports
that with Jeb out of the picture, former state Rep. Marco Rubio will be meeting with party leaders in Washington next week to discuss the possibility of his own bid.
