New Era of Reponsibility Means Less Corporate Tourism For Miami

Miami is generally seen as a vacation destination. A nice place to relax, get a tan, go out, play some golf and indulge in other hedonistic pursuits. Generally this has been a huge benefit in attracting corporate events, but not anymore in this "new era of responsibility (® Barack Obama)".

Business big wigs looking to avoid the sudden PR nightmare of spending lavishly are putting to an end to events in towns like Las Vegas and Miami, and that's just what Goldman Sachs did. They're moving their annual hedge fund conference from Miami to New York. The event was scheduled for March 2nd to 4th at the Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club.

Looks great to everyone bitching about any unnecessary spending by troubled corps. Sucks for our local tourism driven economy.
