Ronald Reagan, our Nation's greatest alliteratively named President to serve in the second half of the 20th century, did not like to spend a lot of money on public education. As Governor of California he opposed increases to basic education programs pretty much every chance he got while reducing local school district's control over their own funding, and then as President he tried to eliminate the Department of Education and severely cut federal education spending. Even his supporters have to pull things out of there ass to name one good thing Ronald Reagen ever did for education in this country.

Ironically though, there are dozens of public schools named after Ronald Reagan, including Ronald W. Reagan/Doral High School here in Miami-Dade. Today hundreds of parents, students, teachers and principals will board buses outside that very school to travel to Tallahassee to protest cuts to education, according to the Sun-Sentinel. It's called the "Rally in Tally!"

According the Herald, Miami-Dade has absorbed more than $300 million in education cuts in the past two years (gasp, that is two rounds of AIG bonuses).
