Dear Politicians, Please Exploit Your Family Dogs
We went on an internet hunt for local politicians who may own dogs, so we could post their pictures and you, the reader, could respond with "awwwww." Well, either Florida politicians have a horrible anti-dog streak, or they are not properly manipulating their family pets for maximum political pay-off. For shame either way.
Here is the list of politicians that have not gone on the record as public dog owners, at least in a way that is easily Google-able: Lincoln Diaz-Balart, Mario Diaz Balart, Kendrick Meek, Dan Gelber, Charlie Crist, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, Alex Sink, Manny Diaz, and Carlos Alvares.
We did find that Ileana Ros-Lehtinen has an "office dog" named Maya, whom she recently shared an award from the Humane Society with. Jeb Bush also had a dog while in office, a cute black lab named Marvin, who died tragically, two days before Bush signed his momentous "doggy dinning bill."
If anyone else has evidence of cute political dogs, please let us know. We'd call up the press offices of these people, but we're pretty sure we're on thin ice with at least half of them.
