Matt Drudge Makes Out's Gay Power List
"So just because I like Junior Vasquez doesn't mean I can't believe this country was built on life, not on a death culture."See, the powerful right-wing news aggregator that runs the media through The Drudge Report from two Miami abodes is a total gay, because he likes house music.
Hold on. Junior Vasquez? Junior Vasquez, the reigning DJ king of gay circuit parties?"Oh yeah, last year Vasquez did some of his best stuff ever," Drudge enthuses, launching into an informed rundown of house music's leading lights, praising Peter Rauhoffer and Hex Hector but deeming a recent all-night set from Danny Tenaglia at Club Space "a bit overrated."
Now he has made Out's 50 Most Powerful Gay Men and Women in America. Probably because the magazine needs to make a few headlines every year to move copies (we're thinking if Out really wanted to stir some shit up based on rumors and innuendo, it should have put Gov. Charlie Crist on the list).
Out says, "Although he has not publicly acknowledged his sexuality, the 42-year-old journalist has enjoyed a long-term relationship with a male landscape gardener."
The list also includes Congressman Barney Frank (#1), MSNBC host Rachel Maddow, Oscar winner Dustin Lance Blank, as well as not-out Anderson Cooper and Barry Diller (who's technically married to lady fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg).
