Club for Growth Calls Crist a Closet Communist

Club for Growth, a fiscally conservative group that helped push Sen. Arlen Specter into the Democratic Party with the threat of a primary challenge, sure does not like Gov. Charlie Crist. Now that ol' Arlen is gone from the party, Crist might be the group's number one GOP target. This month, Club for Growth has distributed a lot of press releases blasting our silver-haired gov.
Apparently being a group that prefers hyperbole over considered discourse, Club for Growth has gone and nominated Charlie for its "Comrade of the Month" award:
Crist signed a no-tax pledge when he was running for governor of Florida a few years ago. Now, as the state's top elected official, he has proceeded to break that very pledge by signing a tax hike into law last week as part of the state budget. But Crist didn't stop there. Earlier this week, he signed another tax hike... this time a 20% tax increase on businesses. Crist sure is some "Republican."
Because taxes = Communism. Clearly. Crist is up against Rep. John Murtha, the duo of reps Henry Waxman and Ed Markey, and dark-horse candidate "unknown San Francisco bureaucrat."
If Charlie wins, and he might just be the early favorite *fingers crossed*, he'd join past winners Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, and the trio of Specter, Susan Collins, and Olympia Snowe. All of whom, of course, are noted Communists and were recently spotted together having a manatee orgy on the grave of Karl Marx.
