Michael Jackson, the King of Pop and one of the most iconic entertainers of the past three decades, has passed on.
The story is obviously developing, but reports claim that Jackson was rushed to Ronald Reagan UCLA medical center shortly after noon Los Angeles time. He was found not breathing, and arrived at the hospital in a coma. He was pronounced dead shortly after.
As our small tribute, here's a video of Jackson at his height performing "Off The Wall" at one of the two Orange Bowl stops on his 1984 Victory Tour. The tour included sets by the Jackson 5, as well as Michael solo. It seems to be the only time Jackson performed as a solo artist in the city.
Thanks for this post. It has been a year and I took a chance to see if I could find this concert. I was there. My boyfriend (now husband) was not a fan...I said I am going WITH or WITHOUT you. He went and was shocked. Great...and like a family crowd. Those were the days...you could take your kids to see MJ and no vulgarity. Innocent then, INNOCENT 2005. MJ you still inspire me. Loved that you thanked God. Love your poems (Dancing the Dream). It's all for L.O.V.E.
i love michael jackson the true legend R.I.P MICHAEL JACKSON!!! XXXXX
Yeah I was at the fantastic performance by Michael Jackson and was blown away too, even from far back and way up in the Orange Bowl (thank goodness for the big screens!) Wow, its really incredible its been 25 yrs ago yet he's "Gone Too Soon"! The entertainment industry Worldwide has lost its greatest performer. NO ONE could dance like him. He will be missed. Sympathies to his children and family. Lord knew you needed rest, RIP Michael

I was at this concert too!! Do you know what the date was? I think I was 17 -- had a big crush on Michael then. Sorry to see you go Michael.
I liked him better when he looked like a Black guy and not a White girl.
He made Porcelana skin cream a house-hold name.
His sister Janet said it best,,,,I'll miss hin, "That Damn fagot"....LOL
he was a legend many never saw
Amazing! I was at that concert and I web searched to look up his orange bowl date.
I didn't expect to find video footage nor did I realize those were his only miami shows ever I was six years old! My first concert ever! Do you have any more footage? Thanks
Thriller was NOT filmed in the Coconut Grove Cemetery. Believe me - we ALL would've been there for it!
Look at the video. It's very obvious it was all done on a soundstage. What do you think they did - dug up graves so fake mosters could climb out? Be for real!
That MiamiForVisitors site is so wrong.
RIP MJ!
any memorials going on?
I say we meet at the "Thriller" cemetery and zombie moonwalk in his honor:

I was at this concert! I was 13, sat very far away from the stage, but it was still amazing. RIP MJ.
It is just so shocking to hear that three of the most beloved people have died. Michael Jackson especially. He had an incredible talent. I was listning to the radio and this guy was saying so much bad stuff about him it made me sick. My mom is so devistated she wants to stay in bed forever. My prayers go out to all of his family. Especially his three young kids.
