• I guess I too felt that Neil Rogers coming off the air was a managerial 'had to' as i am sure they were advised that they could no longer afford his talent. Has anyone looked at WQAM now? With Jim Mandich passing away, there isn't much to listen to. TO me the poor ratings show that it was Neil Rogers that kept them afloat and that people knew what station they liked and hated because of Neil Rogers.  To me it's Neil's revenge even after his passing that is almost 1 year now. I listen to his old shows that i was able to download and the Jorge Rodriguez show. Thank you Neil still, even upon your death, your influence lives in people who look beyond stupidity.

• I just heard about Neil's medical issues. I wish him well. I used to listen to Uncle Neil a lot. I loved his humor. We are political opposites but so what? My people don't hate those who disagree so I can deal with it. Neil once said, "the difference between Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera (sp?) is that Britney can actually sing. I then realized that Neil, like so many talk hosts, knows less than nothing about music. Nonetheless, I loved listening to him and we saw eye to eye on many other issues. Great humor!! God bless you Neil. (can I say that?)

• I will miss Neil Rogers very much. When I lived in Florida, in the Godforsaken town of Naples, the shithole of America, Neil's show kept me laughing throught the day, even when I felt like the SOB's were just twisting my freaking balls in a fucking knot. Neil WILL be missed and now there is no humor on radio, except for Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh.

• Perhaps the worst part is that, unlike that other king of the golden age of South Florida talk radio, Bob Lassiter, there doesn't seem to be anywhere on the net that is a repository for old Neil Rogers shows :(! Maybe someone will start one.

• I feel like we had a death in the family. Neil was the single holdout of the Golden Age of Miami and against mediocrity. I will never listen to QAM again. What for? Neil was the best. • From cassettes from a friend in Florida in 1991 to listening online, Neil was a "personality", a straight (apologies) shooter, and kept me entertained daily. No reason to listen to WQAM ever again. • QAM's only source of income came from Niel. When they paid for Marlins broadcasts Wayne took all their money and dismembered the team (after the first World Series). They paid another fortune to Wayne for Dolphins broadcast rights and the Dolphins went on a 10 year plus losing streak. They paid a fortune for Howard Stern and the day he came on QAM had signal problems and Howard started promoting he was going to Satellite Radio. I won't even mention paying for Panthers rights...what a joke. We don't even have to protest, because Neil leaving will be the final blow to put QAM out of its misery. "Will the last person listening please turn off the signal!?"

• I started listening to Neil when he was doing evenings at WNWS in 1983. And through the years, even listening to the other personalities that appeared, there was never anyone who did more with a phone, some sound bytes and often miserable callers. He had a phone screener and a wit that allowed for extemporaneous responses, no canned schtick bits (other than the ACN bits), no writers, no cast of characters (sure the Bird, and Capt Dave for a while, but that wasn't really his show). Just his insight, wit and excellent radio presence. I listened online after I left the region; I hope he considers a web presence or satellite, but I suspect he's had enough.
