PerezHilton.com has been intermittently slowed and downed by the numbers of browsers trying to get more information from the gossip site in the aftermath of Michael Jackson's reported death.
Meanwhile, the Herald online has been way behind the loop. While most every daily media outlet has been deciding whether to follow TMZ.com's reporting that he had died or continue running stories on his hospitalization, the Herald has gone with the worst of both worlds, for about an hour sporting a banner reading "TMZ: Michael Jackson Dies" leading to a one-sentence brief and photos of the pop star. On the Herald homepage, until about two minutes ago: the damn Estefans holding Dolphins jerseys:
