How can this be after MIA spent a zillion bucks building a new runway on the north side, wiping out acres of valuable land and a couple of hangars that actually employed people at decent bucks to work on aircraft?

How can Ft. Lauderdale, with only one airliner runway, have a lower delay rate and MIA has four airliner runways?

I suspect that most of MIA's delAAys are caused by that sorry American Airlines that offers us those high air fares out of MIA instead of the low air fares on Southwest, Spirit, Jet Blue, etc. out of Ft. Lauderdale? You know, the airline that spent a fortune hiring all those high priced politically connected lobbyists to ensure that our wacko county commission would rule that they could manage the new North Terminal construction instead of the airport that managed every other construction project ever at the airport? And then American blew it, costing us years of delays and $1+ BILLION, if not more, in cost overruns, forcing the county to take back the project and rebid it?
