Mark Ronson for Gucci
The dark cloud of global financial collapse hung over last year's Art Basel Miami Beach. Complimentary caviar was a rare commodity. Gift bags filled with limited edition designer doo-hickees were in short supply. Party hosts had to opt for the economy sized gold-plated fondue fountain. And, oh, yeah, not as much art sold. But it's not about the art, it's about the fashion and the parties, and the commerce!

Thankfully this year's Art Basel is looking a little less gloomy, because Gucci and Mark Ronson are bringing you exactly what you've always dreamed of: limited edition $600 sneakers!

Gucci is getting into the trendy "pop-up shop" game, and setting up a series of temporary stores selling nothing but limited edition sneakers called the 'Icon-Temporary' line. The Miami Beach store will, of course, run concurently with Art Basel.

Each stop on the tour will unviel a special shoe designed by Ronson and Gucci creative director Frida Gianni dubbed the Gucci Ronson. Additionally there's 17 other styles (that's 16 for men, and two for the ladies in all). Each shoe comes with silver or metal dog tags, your initials engraved on a lace plate, a 12 inch vinyl record of exclusive Ronson tracks, and the satisfaction that you've survived the recession.
