Lawsuit to Kick Sex Offenders out from Under the Bridge Stays in Miami

Categories: News
The City of Miami is suing Florida over keeping sex offenders under the Julia Tuttle Causeway, but the Department of Transportation said the suit should have been filed on their home turf in Leon County.

The city is alleging that even the sex offenders' current "home" under the bridge violates laws that say they can't live within 2,500 feet of parks, schools, or other places children gather because the site is in range of Picnic Island No. 4, a park reachable only by boat.
