• First, your mother is still your mother no matter what gender she prefers. Second, perhaps she hasn't told you personally because she is aware of how homophobic you are. And finally, she could just be the sort of person who likes to hug and kiss her platonic friends.

• If your mother or her friends are putting these pictures on Facebook then she must not care who sees them. I'm guessing that she's friends with you on Facebook so, therefore, she already knows that you saw them. I think the conversation you should have with your mother is whether or not she should have these pictures on there for the world to see in the first place. As for whether or not she's a "a lady-licking, full-blown lesbian," don't jump to conclusions.

• I kiss and hug other girls and it means nothing. Other then I've had a touch too much to drink. Try not to put too much into it until you've actually talked to her. Just ask about this pictures and see what she says... although I would recommend you not go at her as though you are accusing her of anything. That will only put her on the defensive and make the entire talk that much harder. Just ask as if it's nothing and go from there. Good luck! Please do remember... she is your mom and any lifestyle choice she makes at this point is hers to make. Continue to love her as she has always loved you... even when you were doing things she might not agree with!

• i know it must be a bit traumatic for you, but this is hilarious! confront your mom, but not aggressively. tell her you're ok with it (because you are, no?), that it's not a big deal. laugh about it... because it's funny.

• I would argue that if you brought it up gently, it might be a big relief for her. Perhaps it's a passive way of letting the world know something she's wanted to say for a long time, but thanks to our society's values, has not felt confident enough to do so. I can't say more than that, since I don't know the two of you personally. Just my $.02
