Cuba's Craigslist Is Apparently Back Online; You Can Still Buy That Sweet Yank Tank

Uvaldo in Havana just posted this '59 Ford Zephyr for sale this morning. It's yours for 14,000 convertible pesos.
Revolico isn't just the best place on the web to ogle rusted-out Yank tanks for sale in Havana. As we wrote in September, it's also the most remarkable example yet of how the Internet is changing life in Cuba, whether the Castro brothers like it or not.

So we were pissed when Reuters reported last month that Cuba's state-run Internet monopoly had blocked Revolico. Combined with the brutal kidnapping of star blogger Yoanni Sanchez just a few days later, it seemed Raúl was cracking down on the small online freedoms sprouting across the island.

Well, take this, Raúl. Revolico, as far as we can tell, is back.

Dozens of new ads are up across the Craigslist-esque site, hawking everything from Uvaldo's sweet '59 Ford Zephyr seen above to Rodney's Yamaha guitar to Papui's Dual Core Pentium PC.

Most of the ads still list Havana-area phone numbers as contacts. So whether Raúl loosened the reins or Revolico found a way around the censors, the eternal truth seems to remain: Even the Castros can't stop people from buying and selling their old crap online.
