Out of the Closet Marks World AIDS Day With 12-Hour HIV-Testing Marathon

Categories: News
More than 90,000 Floridians are living with HIV/AIDS, especially here in Miami-Dade, where one in every 98 Hispanic men, one in every 60 non-Hispanic white men, and one in every 29 African-American men are living with the disease.

Luckily, HIV isn't necessarily an automatic death sentence anymore for those living in America, but early detection is key to not only individual health but also curbing the spread of the disease.

Today, New Times' new neighbor, Out of the Closet, at 2900 N. Biscayne Blvd., a thrift store that benefits those living with HIV/AIDS, is holding a 12-hour HIV-testing marathon from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

In most cases I do not post on blogs, but I have to mention that this post really forced me to do so. Really nice post!
