Charlie Crist Opposes Repealing Don't Ask, Don't Tell; the Jokes Just Write Themselves

Breaking news: Charlie Crist 100 percent supports the idea of homosexuals having to hide or suppress their orientation in order to pursue their chosen career.

In his State of the Union, President Obama promised to repeal "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," the policy that prevents queer folk from serving openly in the military.

"We are a nation at war. The governor believes the current policy has worked, and there is no need to make changes," Crist campaign spokeswoman Amanda Henneberg told the Buzz.

Well, the fact that we are a nation at war is exactly why some people think repealing the policy is more urgent than ever. Ever since the United States went to war in 2001, fewer and fewer troops have been discharged under the policy as the need for military men increases. In 2009, only 428 troops were discharged, down from a high of 1,273.

But Crist -- a subject of the documentary Outrage, subtitled Do Ask, Do Tell -- is in the political battle of his life against Marco Rubio and decided the best way to win is to become as conservative as he can.
