Jose Armando Rodrigues really wanted to get back home to Miami, so apparently it was a big bummer when his friend's car, which he was ridding in, broke down on I-95 near Boynton Beach earlier today.

We can understand wanting to get out of Boynton Beach as soon as possible, but wouldn't recommend it if your attempt leaves you behind bars.

Rodrigues called 911 and told the dispatcher that two men kidnapped him, put a hood over his head, tied him up, threw him in the back of a car and dropped him off on the side of the interstate, according to The Sun-Sentinel.

Police arrived on the scene, but found the broken down car and the driver, Carlos Maradeaga, nearby. Apparently, Rodrigues didn't set his story straight with his friend, because Maradeaga told police what had actually happened, and said Rodriques had gotten tired of waiting and wanted to hitch a ride with cops to Miami.

Rodrigues wound up in a Palm Beach jail instead.
