Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart has announced he won't seek re-election in 2010. Diaz-Balart, only 55 years old, has spent the past 17 years representing Florida's 21st congressional district.

After the 2008 election cycle, when Miami's three Republican Cuban-American congressman faced the strongest challengers of their careers but still won re-election, the 2010 election was expected to be more low-key.

Lincoln's brother, Mario Diaz-Balart, who represents District 25, will instead seek election to the seat Lincoln is vacating. It's believed to be a safer seat for Republicans. Though Republican state Senate majority leader Alex Diaz de la Portilla has also voiced interest in running for the seat.

Meanwhile, Mario's 2008 challenger, Joe Garcia, has told Naked Politics that running for the District 25 seat again is "enticing," and the domain name JoeGarcia2010.com has already been registered.
