Local Activist Marleine Bastien, one of the most influential and impassioned voices on issues facing Miami's Haitian-American community, looks absolutely stunning in the pages of the latest W Magazine. The executive director of Haitian Women of Miami and congressional candidate, is featured in a spread shot by part-time local Bruce Weber that aims to "celebrate admirable women, be they top models, fashion icons, ballet dancers or grassroots activists."

The entire spread, titled "First Ladies," was shot around Miami and also featured professional and student dancers from the Miami City Ballet in addition to a host of top models and bespectacled fashion icon Iris Apfel (a part-time Palm Beach resident). Weber last turned his lens on Miami for the beautiful documentary Liberty City is Like Paris to Me.

W says they'll have an interview up with Bastien on their blog, but we don't see it yet.
