Teenagers have unfortunately become experts in the area of getting high off legal substances, and a practice known as "robo-tripping" has become a standard for those looking to get a buzz off drugs readily available over the counter at pharmacies.

Dextromethorphan, an active ingredient found in Robitussin and other cough medicines, in high doses produces effects similar to Ketamine, such as euphoria, hallucinations, and vivid thoughts. Some users even report out-of-body experiences.

Now 11 students at Hialeah Middle School have been taken to the hospital after apparently abusing the drug in school.
The six girls and five boys, all between the ages of 13 and 14, took Coricidin, an over-the-counter medicine. Coricidin is more dangerous than other sources of dextromethorphan because it also includes chlorphenamine, which is dangerous and even fatal in high doses.

Some of the students were wheeled out on gurneys from the school and transported to Jackson Memorial and Palmetto General. Their conditions are unknown.
