The Hill Says Florida Senate Race Between Meek and Rubio Is Now a "Toss-Up"

Who's going to be Florida's next senator come Election Day in November? No one knows. Not even respected political newspaper The Hill. It recently changed its ranking of the race from "leaning Republican" to "toss-up."

A recent Research 2000 poll showed Meek was pulling within 1 percent of Rubio, 41-40 percent. Though a Rasmussen Reports poll shows Rubio with a hefty 48 percent to Meek's 34 percent. But Meek so far has raised more money and has more cash than Rubio, and The Hill suggests the polling deficit might be bridged when Meek begins spending and raising his profile.

Also of note, The Hill classifies the seat Lincoln Diaz-Balart is leaving as "one to watch," while the newspaper says the seat Mario Diaz-Balart is leaving to run in his brother's district is "likely Republican."
