It's official. The Associated Press reports the U.S. Department of Justice is opposing Ana
Margarita Martinez's attempt to make charter companies that book flights from here to Cuba pay a $27 million judgment she won against the Cuban government.
In submitting its opposition motion in Miami federal court, the DOJ declared U.S.-Cuba flights a vital national interest. Ana Margarita won the judgment in 2001 after claiming double agent Juan Pablo Roque tricked her into marrying him as part of his cover to infiltrate Miami's Cuban exile community.
