Woman Gets $2 Million After Street Sweeper Runs Over Her

Twenty-year-old University of Miami student Bianca Milov was crossing a street in Coral Gables at 1 a.m. September 11 last year when she was run over by a street sweeper and ejected out the other end. She racked up more than $1.25 million in medical bills, and now the City of Coral Gables has agreed to settle a lawsuit with Milov for a little less than $2 million.

The driver, Jose L. Santiesteban, was charged with a misdemeanor of "failure to yield to a pedestrian," and the city fired him. His union is working to appeal the decision. [CBS4]
