Is the City of Miami About to Go Bankrupt? Marc Sarnoff Seems to Like the Idea

• Mr Sarnoff is a douche and needs to get off that pedistal he has placed himself on because he and his cronies are the reason that the city is faceing financial ruin. To the millions of dollars they have misalacated that are most likely lining their pockets as we speak,to Mr Sarnoffs two properties which are next door to each other in coconut grove which both have homestead exemption on. Hmmmmm how is that possible? And now that his years of screw ups and swiddling have caught up with him he now want to put it on the backs of the police officers and firefighters to pay for his misdeads. How can you look at yourself in the mirror everyday Mr sarnoff? Oh i forgot your a politician.

• Yes Mr. Sarnoff, but you forgot to mention that elected officials get 100% of their pricey pension with added perks after only 8 years in office. Meanwhile, Police officers and Fire men risk their lives daily in dealing with the criminals and situations that you are all too scared to face yourselves. Most of us have been divorced and have dis-functional families because of the changes we go through and the demands of our jobs. All the while, Mr. Sarnoff, you and your cronies sit in air conditioned offices on your pedestals calling the shots, pointing fingers and collecting your kickbacks! Don't get me started on the "alternative" incomes you ALL get under the table. How else can you explain the pricey contracts granted for services that the city already has employees capable of providing (consulting firms, etc...). Let's not just talk about transparency, let's be it. Its high time the public stood up and got educated about what really goes on.

• It is sad a sad state. Sarnoff is correct. The administration has been trying to renegotiate the union contracts since Arriola. But with Commissioners only selected for four years, they don't want to "hurt" there political careers by voting to cut union contracts. Think about it, every election is won by the Mayor or Commissioner backed by the unions. Are they going to bite the hand that feeds them? The bankruptcy is the only way to do it because it allows for termination/renegotiation of the union contracts.

• He's right. Have the city come out leaner post bankruptcy. What do you recommend? Raising taxes?
