Jay Leno Tells Something Resembling a Joke About Dr. Rekers Rent Boy Scandal

• Leno's joke could just as easily have been about the possibility of looking for love on a prostitution website, regardless of gay or straight. Same joke could be made re an anti-prostitution hetero caught retaining the services of a prostitute. I don't find any of the jokes funny, but anti-gay isn't the only explanation

• Oh yeah, because the issue here is Leno. Give it a rest, this Rekers guy was one of the people responsible for Florida's andti-gay adoption law, His group, the Family Research Council is one of the groups that Congress calls in to testify on anti-gay legislation etc... So keep the focus on the hypocritical psycho that heads up this anti-gay organization rather than bitching that Leno acted like a Frat boy. Sheesh.

• Get over yourselves. It wasn't a funny joke, but the man is a self-hating homosexual. His first excuse was that he hired the male prostitute on rentboy.com to carry his luggage. He changed his excuse later when he realized how ridiculous that one was. I'm just waiting for Dobson to get busted for being a closet homosexual. It's just a matter of time.

• When can we past that insinuating someone is gay = funny garbage?!?! Good Lord. Doesn't Jay Leno fucking know better by now? He supposedly supports equality, but he's done/said several things -- and now this new business -- that are ridiculously homophobic and thoroughly unnecessary. (There was an awkward interaction when Ellen DeGeneres was his guest, and Jay made some acknowledgement of his serial commission of homophobic jokes and you could tell that Ellen was not willing to give him a pass on that stuff.) Leno's excuse to Jeff Whitty was that "comedy is hard." Jay, if it's that hard for you to avoid homophobic "jokes," maybe you should consider another line of work.
