Zach Thomas to Sign With the Dolphins Again Just to Immediately Retire

Categories: Sports
Good news, Dolphans! Zach Thomas, who spent 12 years with the Dolphins and racked up seven Pro Bowl appearances, is going to re-sign with the team! Then he will immediately retire.

According to the AP, this afternoon Thomas will sign a ceremonial contract and then announce his retirement as a member of a team he played most of his career with.

The linebacker was drafted by the Dolphins in the fifth round in 1996 and stayed with the team until 2007. In between he became one of the Fins' most decorated and celebrated players and made the NFL's all-decade team. He spent a year playing for the Cowboys in 2008 and was signed, briefly, with the Chiefs last year.

Thomas was critical of the Dolphins' handling of negotiations with fellow Fin alum and his brother-in-law Jason Taylor, but apparently he's made up with the front office.
