UPDATE: Backyard Fights in Perrine Canceled

UPDATE:Earlier tonight, we received a text from Dhafir Harris that tomorrow's backyard brawl is off. Government interference, apparently. Via text, Harris explains: "Do 2 The Rapid Growth of BkYrd Fights DADA ran n 2 legal issues wit the local Authority's."

Kimbo Slice's short lived career in the Ultimate Fighting Champhionship notwithstanding, the backyard brawlers are still at it.

New Times cover boy and Rakontur documentary star Dhafir Harris, aka Dada 5000, is putting on another fight fest this Saturday in Perrine, where street warriors become overnight YouTube sensations.

"We're bringing you another heart-pounding event filled with chills and thrills," Harris says via cellphone. "The backyard is where champions are made and dreams become a reality."

The fist banging goes down at the corner of SW 104the Avenue and 179 Street. Make sure to bring an umbrella because there will be blood.
