We are still in the news-hole hell of July, which means it's cucumber season. Which means the Daily Beast keeps pumping out city ranking lists and we keep covering them. This latest lineup by listmeister Richard Florida isn't surprisingl: Miami/Fort Lauderdale has more immigrants than any other metro area in America. Well, duh.

The percentage of residents in the South Florida metro area that are immigrants is 36.92, or about 1,994,677 people.

"Famous for its large Cuban population, Miami has a large Spanish-speaking population (nearly 60%) that people say its hard to conduct business unless you're fluent in the language," Florida writes while linking to a two-year-old AP article about those poor, put-out white people who feel they have to leave the city because they don't speak Spanish.

While the Beast doesn't mention it, that percentage is even higher when you take Broward and Palm Beach counties out of the mix. About 50.1 percent of Miami-Dade residents are foreign born, but about 47 percent of them have since become naturalized citizens.

In 2004, the United Nations Development Program ranked the city of Miami first in the entire world for number of residents born outside the country, with 59 percent.

The San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, California metro area comes in second with 36.31 percent of its population made up of immigrants.
