Cristina Saralegui, who is basically Cuban-American Oprah, is set to end her popular Miami-based Univision talk show, El Show de Cristina, on November 1 after a twenty-year run. Oh dear Lord, now all of those bored abuelas watch now?

Cristina has been broadcasting her once-daily, now-weekly show form Miami since 1989 and has gone on to amass an estimated 100 million viewers and a veritable media empire that included books, a magazine, and a short-lived stab at an English version of her show. Though her original Univision chat show has always been the crown jewel of the empire.

"I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to host 'El Show de Cristina' over the past 20 years and work with the incredible people at Univision," said Saralegui in a statement. "It is bittersweet to announce the end of what has been a very rewarding experience, but after many wonderful years, now is the perfect time to retire the show and move on to the next exciting phase of my career. I look forward to continuing to entertain my incredibly supportive and dedicated fans as the host of upcoming Univision specials."

So, Cristina will still be around hosting the occasional Univision special. With Oprah ending her run next year, what are all of those bilingual gab fest watcher supposed to settle for now?
