Elián González knows no life outside of being a pawn of propaganda. His media appearances, seemingly orchestrated by the Cuban government, have become quite common over the past few months to mark the tenth anniversary of his return to Cuba. Now, the Latin American Herald Tribune reports González gave an interview this Monday to Venezuelan state television that also aired in Cuba. In it, he infers that if needed, he's ready to die for his country.

González said he's not sure what he wants to do when he grows up but notes that his school trains future military officers

"My commitment is very great, and especially to my country, to the point that I'm ready to give everything for it, even shed my blood to defend it as any other youth would do who loves the land of his birth," González said.

So yeah, apparently lil' Elián loves Cuba. As for the USA, well, you know, he thinks the people are OK but that our capitalist system is a cancer upon the world.

"The people are like any other, with their virtues and defects," the 16-year-old said. "The problem is with its form of government, with its capitalist ideas and its expansion as a power wanting to take over the world, which is why it's waging war to dominate a large part of the world."
