Former Fugee Pras Endorses Wyclef's Opponent in Haiti Presidential Election

In exactly what world are we living when the breakup of a hip-hop group leads to drama in a presidential election? Wyclef Jean is running for president of Haiti (which seems like a tough job considering he can barely run his charity, career, or personal finances), and now his former Fugees bandmate, Pras, has endorsed Jean's opponent, saying he's the "most competent candidate for the job." So wait, does that mean there'll probably never be another Fugees reunion?

Pras, long seen as the third wheel in the Fugees, endorsed Jean's opponent, Michael Martell, according to the Daily News.

"I endorse Michel Martell as the next president of Haiti because he is the most competent candidate for the job," said Pras, born to Haitian parents in New York.

That's a not-so-subtle dig at Jean's credibility.

Of course, that's a lot nicer than the time Pras said he'd personally try to assassinate former Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide, and said, "Before I work with Lauryn Hill again, you will have a better chance of seeing Osama Bin Laden and [George W.] Bush in Starbucks having a latte, discussing foreign policies, before there will be a Fugees reunion."

So there really wasn't much hope for a Fugees reunion before, but now it's pretty much dead. We tried to reach Lauryn Hill for comment, but apparently she's been busy warbling into a tape recorder, praying to some weird spiritual leader, and generally looking this kind of a crazy.
